Policing, Crime, ADHD & Dyspraxia
I talk with Detective Constable with The Met Police, Daley Jones about how to make the world a safer, fairer & more equitable place for all.
This is one of the most interesting conversations I’ve ever had, in general. I wanted to say that is was about ADHD, neurodiversity and the policing in the 21st century, but it is so much more than that.
Daley shares openly about his own experiences with ADHD & Dyspraxia, but also speaks candidly about his role in the police. He has tangible, implementable ways that policing can be improved, for those serving in police and for those who come into contact with the criminal justice system. But, beyond that, we talk about how if these changes can be implemented, we can create a safer, fairer and more equitable world for everyone.
Since diagnosis, he has founded the ADHD Alliance, a national support group for Police officers and staff with ADHD, or those who support someone with ADHD.
At the end of our chat, I say that I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone from The Met in the way Daley does. If you listen to one thing today, make it this, because meeting Daley & following his work has challenged a lot of my preconceived ideas about policing.
Please share far and wide, this is well worth a listen.
