It’s safe to say the past three weeks have been the busiest of my life.
I bought a house (a great, big, collapsing farmhouse in Italy), I travelled across five different countries, delivered a prison reform talk in Glasgow & attended a charity council meeting in London (with The Howard League for Penal Reform, in case you fancy getting involved with an incredible organisation, I’ve linked them here).
Then it was back to Italy, to get to work on the house. We’ve been making incredible progress, and I’ve discovered a new amazing hyperfocus - renovating and upcycling antique furniture.
There is something so fulfilling about taking old things and giving them a new lease of life. Every day, I’m finding cool new objects I know I can make use of, or exciting artefacts that tell the history of the building.
The problem is, because I’m enjoying doing stuff on the house so much, I’ve been rubbish at keeping up with the podcast and newsletter.
So, because I forgot to tell you a week ago, I’m telling you now -
I have an amazing, inspiring, positive and edu-taining (educational, yet entertaining) episode out, that you should listen to immediately! Max Jervis-Read & I used to work together in prison (yep, proper prison). But back then, neither of us knew we had ADHD. It was so much fun to reflect on all of it, now we both understand our brains a bit better.
What with being so busy & getting super distracted, I’ve realised I need to delegate some work. Because all I really want to do with my time is write, and build this house. So, with the involvement of other people, I’ll be able to post less sporadically and share really good quality writing with you all.
Ciao for now!
